Assisting at nursing homes

If you are thinking about working at a nursing home you will have to become certified to do so. You can either take training to become a Nursing Assistant or a Medical Assistant. There are differences as to how and where the CNA works and how and where the MA works. MA's and CNA's both work with the public and interact with the health care professionals and the staff.

CNA's take vital signs, instruct patients on how to improve their health, how to take their medications properly, and fill out paperwork. The CNA works closely RN's and LPN's at nursing homes. CNA's also take vital signs and record the findings on the patient charts. CNA's help transport patients to test sites, help with hygiene, make patients comfortable, and change beds and clothing after bathing patients.

MS's cannot work at a facility if a doctor is not present since they must report to a doctor. CNA's do not have to have a doctor present when they work, they report to nurses. If you are thinking about a career in nursing you may want to become a CNA or an MA first and then climb the ladder to more a complex career. In the US, MA's don't have to be certified, but they are one step below a CNA and MA's don't offer the bedside care that CNA's offer.

The Busy Bees Group

There is an amazing group of women who get together to create things of comfort to send to soldiers abroad. These ladies pool together their resources and create diddly bags, quilts and other items to send to the brave soldiers serving in foreign lands. These precious ladies are putting their God given talents to use to help soldiers be more comfortable.

Diddy bags can be made by knitting or crocheting, and can come in handy to carry much needed things, like personal hygiene items. Lap-quilts are created so that the soldiers have a warm blanket to curl up under on cold desert nights. They crochet, quilt and sew together, making items for many occasions, like pins for their Relay for Life. It is people like these ladies that give those in difficult circumstances a little hope, and perhaps make them feel a little better. There are crafting groups that create items for the sick in hospitals including quilts and toys for young children; all this is simply from their hearts.

Crafting groups are not just good for those receiving their handy work; it is a great way to meet some wonderful people. What better way to become fast friends, sharing crafting skills. Young and old can all enjoy these groups, and in return you're helping others to feel that someone cares. Groups such as the Busy Bees are full of fantastic people doing good things for others. They surely are angels sent to do God's good deeds.

Care Giving

As the world and the economy are advancing by leaps and bounds, there are many issues that are coming up which need more attention than ever before. There are injures due to disasters and old age, mental stress and disorders related to it, and, worst of all, less availability of medical professionals. All these now are challenges that society has to face and there are many organizations like the RCI which have taken the initiative to fulfill society’s need for care giving.

They have made efforts to provide care not only to the families in the society but also to the community as a whole so that there is continuous rehabilitation and care provided to those who need it. It is the need of all countries to have a group of people who are care givers and are responsible for care giving. The program will also focus on providing care givers and ensuring their availability. These care givers will be responsible for helping and taking care of the old and the ill people and also those who disabled.

The aim of the care giving program is to provide help and high quality assistance to different sections of the society, like the old, ill, and disabled. The care giving program will ensure the care givers are trained and educated to provide the needed services. The program will also assess the needs of the people and monitor if the services are being provided in an adequate manner.

Ministering to Others Through Nursing

First of all, nursing is a healthcare profession that concentrates on the optimal health and quality of life for individuals. This sentence says a lot about nursing. They truly are ministering to the needs of others when they are involved with caring for them, their families and the communities. Nurses can make a difference in the health and lives of anyone from the time of one's birth to their death. What a great opportunity to be of help to others!

You can be a part of the nursing profession and help people stay healthy. Train them in proper nutrition and a daily routine to help their bodies "work" efficiently throughout their lives. You can even guide individuals and groups in maintaining good emotional, social and spiritual as well as physical health. To accomplish all of this, nurses have to study physical science, social science, nursing theory and the technology of caring for others. They do care for individuals who are healthy and ill.

If you want to be involved with Christian missions to a foreign country but not in the position of a spiritual leader, go as a nurse. You can then minister to the sick with your credentials for health care. Your ministering to their physical needs will open the way to fulfilling their spiritual needs. Others with credentials to minister spiritually can continue working with them. You have helped open their minds and hearts to the Gospel when you've helped with their physical needs. You can continue helping others as a nurse when you help people of other nationalities with tips on keeping themselves healthy. Unfortunately, other countries have not had the exposure to health education that U.S. citizens have had.

The Ministry Work Of Today's Churches

Ministry work can be done through many different opportunities. Ministry in the church is basically focused towards helping the people of the church both physically and spiritually. The most important thing for the church to remember is that Jesus Christ is the head of every church and the reason for ministering to the people.

Jesus Christ started showing the church how to minister throughout his time on earth by teaching his disciples so that they could carry out his ministry when he left the earth. One example that Jesus showed in his ministry was the feeding of the 5,000 people. In our ministry of today, we need to take Jesus’ example and not only apply it in our church but in our community so that others can be led to Christ.

As you look at ministry, there are four relationships that the church follows: the church and its people, church and the people outside the church, church and its relationship to God and also God’s relationship to the church. By understanding these four relationships and keeping them in perspective, we can minister to the people in the church and community. The Bible shares these four relationships through the Great Commission in Matthew 28:19 and 20 (“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have command you; and lo I am with you always even unto the end of the world. Amen.”)

Some of the newer ideas for outreach ministries in the church today have included exercise programs, day care and parenting classes. These and more updates have opened the door for deeper and more meaningful community outreach.
